What is Despacho
In Spanish, the word Despacho means “dispatch or transport . The despacho is a traditional offering Ceremony from the Tradition of the wider Andes region of South America. In this ceremony, we address the forces of the Universe and Pachamama, Mother and Father Earth, to bring harmony to all aspects of our life. An offering to connect and express gratitude, balance, harmony, and manifestation in what we wish for.
It helps us to consciously align our personal actions with the cosmic ones
Our intention to perform a Despacho ceremony calls for some noble & universal qualities and fundamental forces that can offer peace to the Earth that supports us. It is an excellent harmonizing tool for a community on a material, relational level and in the immaterial world. A beautiful step toward an evolution based on sound values and positive intentions.
The process
For a Despacho Ceremony, we need to gather various materials, such as wine, sugar, incense, gold and silver threads, flowers, grains, seeds, candy shells, and more. Each item is placed on a large sheet of plain white paper with great care. Next, we create a mandala with our intention focused on what we are asking to restore. Finally, we blow our prayers into bundles of leaves called kintus and add them to our offering.
The Despacho building process takes around 2-3 hours. When the mandala is complete, we fold our paper and have a package closed and tied, unless we want to leave it open on Earth.
Also, It can be buried or burned or travel in water, having clean as much heavy energy carries first and convert fertile ground for our new endeavors.
What you need to bring with you:
For many of the goods, I will have them with me. You can bring clean plant leaves (laurel or olive, better for your kintu), flowers, cookies or other small edibles (which burn easily), candy, golden and silver threads, cotton, etc. Prefer biological products as much as possible. But most important, bring what will come from your heart.
